Boxing Clever for AMURT
Submitted by Amurt on July 9, 2007 - 21:41It's amazing what lengths our supporters will go to to raise funds for our needy projects. One supporter decided to go 10 rounds in the ring to raise money for our African projects - we wish you every success.
UPDATE - our budding boxing champ, who wishes to remain anonymous raised over £2000 for our relief work. May your bruises heal extra quickly!!!!
Afternoon for Africa Fundraiser
Submitted by Amurt on May 1, 2007 - 22:57
In April 2007, the AMURT UK team embarked on an ambitious project: a locally based fundraiser/charity awareness event which attracted over 350 people from the local community. “An Afternoon for Africa,” was concieved to support our project work in Africa, specifically Ghana. Although we support other projects throughout Africa, we wanted to keep the flavour Ghanaian. There were several reasons for the Ghana focus, not least that several of our active UK members have worked with our Ghana projects over the years. Coincidentally, our event happened not long after the 50th Ghanaian independence anniversary celebrations.
